Who this is for

Founders who have already decided a Tide account is right for the business and want to understand the referral terms before applying.

Before you read on

Write your spending rules first. A card enforces a decision; it does not make one. Build your spending policy.

What the product actually is

A referral code is a marketing mechanism. It does not change the underlying product, the plan fees or the account features.

This is a two-step campaign: one step is about card usage, the other is a savings deposit with a holding period. The second step requires £5,000 of spare cash you can leave untouched for 30 days.

If you would not otherwise open the account, the reward is not a reason to. If you were opening it anyway, using the code costs you nothing.

Capabilities

Features that matter for a small team

What the code affects

Only the reward. Account features, plan limits and pricing are unchanged.

What it does not affect

Approval. Tide's onboarding checks apply either way.

Costs, risks and limitations

  • • Rewards are conditional on completing each step exactly, within the stated deadline.
  • • Tying up £5,000 for 30 days has an opportunity cost, and is unwise if that money may be needed for payroll or tax.
  • • Campaign terms can change or end at any time. We show the date we last verified them.
  • • We may be paid if you open an account through a tracked link on this page.

Who benefits

  • • Founders already choosing Tide for account access, team roles or expense cards.

Who should look elsewhere

  • • Anyone who would be switching purely for the reward.
  • • Businesses that need credit rather than a current account.
  • • Anyone who cannot comfortably leave £5,000 on deposit for the holding period.

How to apply, in order

  1. Read the current campaign terms on Tide's own page.
  2. Check the account and plan actually fit your team access and card needs.
  3. Apply using the tracked partner link on this page, entering the referral code where prompted.
  4. Complete the qualifying card spending within the first 30 days if you intend to claim step one.
  5. Only attempt the savings step if £5,000 can genuinely sit untouched for 30 days.

The offer, in full

Status: active

Tide is a business account provider rather than a bank. For a small team its useful surface is access control and spending admin: you can give an accountant or bookkeeper a defined level of access instead of your password, issue debit-based Expense Cards that can only spend money the business already has, capture receipts against transactions, and organise spending for reconciliation. It is a fit when your policy work is done and you need the plumbing. It is not a fit if what you actually need is credit, or if your current account already supports the roles and cards you need.

This page describes a Tide referral campaign. If you open an account through a tracked link on this site we may receive a referral payment, and you may receive a reward if you meet the campaign conditions. This does not change what we recommend or what we tell you about the product.

  • • Tide Platform Limited is not itself a bank. The Tide Business Current Account is powered by ClearBank, and Tide states that eligible deposits are FSCS protected up to £120,000. Other Tide services may use different protection arrangements; check the account documents shown during application.
  • • Rewards are not guaranteed. They depend on meeting every campaign condition within the stated deadlines.

Frequently asked questions

Is REFER200 active and when was it checked?

The campaign record is active and was last checked on 26 August 2026. Campaigns can change or end, so confirm Tide’s current terms before you apply.

How is the up to £200 reward split?

It has two separate steps: £75 after £100 of qualifying Tide card transactions within 30 days of account opening, plus £125 after the separate Instant Saver deposit and holding requirement is met.

Are the £75 and £125 steps independent?

They are separate reward steps with different conditions. You should not assume a reward is guaranteed unless you meet the condition for that step under the current campaign terms.

What counts toward the £100 card-transactions requirement?

The owner-approved campaign record confirms a £100 qualifying-card-transaction requirement. Tide’s campaign terms govern which transactions qualify; do not assume that transfers, reversals or other non-purchase activity count.

Which transactions are excluded?

Check the current Tide campaign terms for exclusions before you apply. Keep a copy of the terms shown in your own application journey, because campaign definitions can change.

When must the £5,000 arrive and how long must it remain?

Deposit at least £5,000 into Tide Instant Saver within 7 days and hold the qualifying balance for 30 days to meet the second reward step.

When is each reward paid?

The approved campaign record does not set a separate payout date. Check the current provider terms for the timing and keep evidence of the qualifying activity.

Can existing Tide members use REFER200?

No. This campaign is for eligible new Tide customers, subject to Tide’s current checks and terms.

Where is the code entered, and can it be added later?

Use REFER200 in the application flow reached through the approved tracked link. Do not rely on being able to add a code later unless Tide confirms that in the current campaign terms.

Is the free plan eligible, and what team features cost extra?

The free account has no monthly plan fee and read-only Team Access is free. Tide’s public plan table says enhanced Team Access starts on paid plans; check the plan table above for current prices and included Team Cards.

How does REFER200 differ from a standard Tide referral code?

REFER200 is the separate owner-approved partner campaign described above. Tide’s public refer-a-friend route currently uses a customer’s personal code, £500 of card spend over three months and a £100 reward. Use only one route.

What protection applies to funds?

Tide Platform Limited is not itself a bank. Tide Business Current Accounts are powered by ClearBank and Tide says eligible deposits are FSCS protected up to £120,000; other Tide services can have different protection arrangements, so check the account documents presented to you.

What should I save if the reward does not track?

Keep the code, the tracked-link confirmation, screenshots of the offer terms, account-opening confirmation, card-transaction evidence, Instant Saver deposit evidence and dates. Contact Tide first, then report a discrepancy to us using the link above.
